Scientists from ICAR-NDRI, Karnal, have observed the competition between our natural gut bacteria and pathogenic bacteria closely. They have identified some proteins involved in this interaction and have also produced microbeads, embedded with these proteins, that have the potential for oral administration to fight pathogenic bacteria. 

Researchers from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai, Aarhus University, Denmark, ICPO ‘Biologists for Nature Conservation’, Russia and the University of Washington, USA, have reported the effect of urbanisation on the diversity of birds.

Researchers from IISc, Bengaluru, and Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, have developed nanoparticles that can deliver drugs to targeted mammalian cells, using a type of plant virus called sesbania mosaic virus.
