As much as we’d like to shush about it, the fact remains that mental health is an imperative component of one’s overall well-being that encompasses a wide range of emotional, psychological, and social factors. One key area of research in mental health sciences is the study of neurobiology, which focuses on the biological and physiological processes that, when gone awry, are responsible for various mental health conditions.

When molecules form from many atoms, the atoms can combine in different ways. Two forms of the same molecule can have the same composition but have different arrangements of atoms, giving rise to isomers. Some isomers may have structures that are mirror images of each other. Such molecules are called chiral molecules. Scientists are interested in studying such molecules, for example, penicillin, because one arrangement can be a lifesaver while the other could be fatal!

A river meanders lazily through the plains but, in rocky terrain, might tumble rapidly down as a waterfall, sometimes in multiple cascades. Charles Darwin had earlier proposed that changes in the characteristics of organisms happen very slowly over time and generations, just like the river’s gentle flow.
