Researchers replicate evolution in the lab using microbes and feeding them with subtly different sugars, and observing how their adaptations diverge

Researchers described a close association between microbes and plants that they live in, and how this relationship benefits both. The association, called the ‘rhizophagy cycle’, involves friendly bacteria and fungi that live in the roots of specific plants and help in nutrient transfer.

Researchers from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand and the Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, India, reveal the rich diversity of microbes in the Thar desert.
