The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved another leap in its quest for self-reliance in space, successfully launching the heaviest communication satellite ever lifted from Indian soil using its formidable heavy-lift rocket, the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3). Affectionately nicknamed ‘Bahubali’ for its sheer power, the LVM3-M5 mission placed the critical 4,410 kg CMS-03 spacecraft into a precise Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

World Sparrow Day 25

We at Gubbi Labs have always celebrated the humble yet remarkable sparrow, which is also the inspiration behind our logo. Our name is derived from the town of the same name located in Tumakuru district of Karnataka. This town derives its name from the house sparrow and is home to Gubbi Labs.

House sparrows or Passer domesticus are typically distributed in and around human settlements and thus epitomize human-environmental interactions, which is also representative of the work on ecosystems and cities that Gubbi Labs does. Once abundant in India, their numbers are now declining, raising alarms about the country's unbridled urbanization.
